Castledaly GAA Notes

While we look forward to reducing restrictions in the future towards
our day to day activities, the GAA activities remain suspended until
further notice in line with GAA and government COVID19 instructions.
The GAA grounds including playground are closed to prevent spreading
virus.

With the blessing of such wonderful weather in recent weeks, Senior
and Junior players are encouraged to improve and polish their skills
and share their football challenges and training on our club social
media.
There are lots of challenges available online on WestmeathGAA.ie and
CastledalyGAAClub Facebook page to help them work on their skills and
fitness, while keeping within the national health and safety
guidelines.

Massive well done and congrats to everyone who participated in the
weekends Darkness Into Light fundraising for Pieta House – to those
who walked solo, or with their four legged friends, or in groups
maintaining social distancing and safe practices – despite the extra
challenge faced this year so many triumphed and contributed to this
very worthy cause and charity. Anyone wishing to support still can do
so online at https://www.darknessintolight.ie/sunrise-appeal

More than ever we need to look after ourselves and each other,
especially to look after the vulnerable and elderly during these very
strange times.

In conjunction with Westmeath County Council, Castledaly GAA Club
signed up to offer our help in the provision of a community helpline
in the following areas –
1.Collection and delivery of food/fuel/medicine etc
2.Transport for people who may have appointments which they need to attend
3.Visiting those on their own/aged or feeling isolated (at a safe distance
of course)
4.Provision of meals for those in need.
We send a huge thank you to everyone who has helped with this
initiative so far, local and nationally.
Anyone can contact the dedicated community support helpline at
(Freephone 1800 805 816)

Fly Your Flags
It has been wonderful to see our members and supporters flying their
flags and colours, (club, county, country, and others) to give thanks
and remember brighter days in our past, to inspire and to brighten the
days in our present, and to look forward to brighter days in our
future, to show our community spirit and support for each other – We
Are In This Together – Together We Will Succeed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all families and friends who have
lost loved ones in recent weeks.
As a community we look for ways to continue to show our support so we
light candles in prayer and thoughtfulness for all in need – whether
illness or loss.
Our Club especially wish to remember the families and friends of recently deceased. We were blessed to know them as family, as neighbours, and as friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha uaisle
